Into Episode
Episode ... the first time when the Junies and Senies interact. This time, as usual, we have 5 teams vying for the top position (well, some are not!!!). My team is named BAKAR (for the uninitiated, it means ... non-stop non-sense). The others call themselves DoA (Disciples of Atrocities), Josh, Mafia and RDX. The essence of Team Bakar was to have fun all through the Episode but it went on to concentrate more on winning the event. I sometimes think that when we expect high of ourselves, we fall short of it. I don't know the reason; but I have slowly went into a shell and now my team's winning or losing doesn't make a difference to me. I have hardly interacted with any junie and I can't even name them all. Syed, my room-mate, is the Leader of my team and I've seen him lose sleep over it. And I know he doesn't like my losing interest in this but then, I just can't get myself into it. And this is the attitude of most of my team-mates. And it is already manifesting itself: Bakar is already 3rd; with one more day to go. We have put up a jackpot on our Theme Song. The D-Day is tomorrow. Lets see what happens.
Is physical appearance so important?
I was thinking of writing this post as soon as I finished my earlier one. At that time, I had something else in my mind too, so I just dropped this idea. But an anonymous comment to my previous post necessiated this post. The comment had to do with the girls of my batch not selecting any of the junies as their dance partners. Well, to start off with, I view it as their personal decision and so, my judging their decision is not proper. But when viewed in the broader perspective, I do not endorse their decision.
Freshers is a social occasion. It is a party for the junies, but by the senies. Its an occasion where junies and senies can mingle. Now how fair is it for the senies to force a dance partner (a senie guy) down the throat of a junie girl, when the senie girls are themselves are not willing to dance with a junie guy, just because they are not good (read: not attractive enough). Do physical appearances appeal so much so that the senie girls forgot what the whole idea of the Freshers is all about? Or were they expecting an SRK or an Aamir Khan to be their partner?
psst ... psst ... Inside info: Some senie girls, whom I really appreciate, were willing to dance but the WelfareCom did not go ahead with the idea because there was a bunch of senie girls who were not willing to choose a dance partner at all, come what may ...
Freshers 2005 @ TAPMI
Time to get to know the junies better ... FRESHERS. The same old venue - Valley View. The only difference being that this time, we paid for the party :-( Otherwise, it was the same old frenzy, same chaos and same excitement. Well, our junies are also fun-loving guys; quite contrary to my earlier preception. But it changed - and thats a nice thing. As usual, the music and dance performances were amazing!! Especially Kajrare by Jasmine and another by the junie girls (sorry, I don't remember their names). The excitement, especially when the pairs for the evening, was unbelievable. The most hilarious moment was when we all shouted Jassi's name for the dance partner of Uma. And the Sardar's name was already there!! By the end, the prize for the Best Couple went to Anudeep Sapaliga and Poorvasha (I hope I've spelt it correctly). It was a wonderful party. Had to be there to believe it.
Induction 2005 @ TAPMI
Well, to be honest, I was so much bogged down by work that I didn't get the time to put up a new post. But then, something happened that made me come straight to my Blog!!! It was the Induction. I was in the college the whole day but was busy preparing my Report. Then I went to the Auditorium at 6:30 PM to watch the MusiCom perform. First came the Junies - and sang a few nice songs. Only one of them, Jay, can be called a good singer. Also there's a guy who can play some sexy stuff on the Guitar. But then came the real kings - the Senies, I mean - and stole the whole show. I think Ajin is the only guy in the college who can do anything - and I mean it!! The guy is awesome and simply beyond compare when it comes to Drums. And today he played the Guitar too!!! Not to mention that this guy is our BrandScan convenor also. A group of senies also played some 3-4 songs interlaced with each other in a single performance. That is Talent. And lastly, we do remember and won't perhaps ever forget Sukumar Vikram, Saurav Palit and Tushar Shukla. That was perhaps the best song of the evening - Chale Hum Chale - a song that Tushar himself composed for last year's Episode for the Yuva Team. Guys, we wish you were here.
