Team TSG formed
Phew,After a whole dilly-dallying that went on for 4 weeks, we finally got the Junie TSG members. I don't really know the reason why people applied in such low numbers for TSG. First only 7 people sent in their nominations, considering that we needed 5 people !!! On top of that, only one of them had put TSG as the first preference. So we ended up with only two shortlisted people.
Then we were forced to kick off the second round - this was possibly (in my opinion) was the first time that TSG had to go in for the second round of inviting nominations. We were so pissed off that we actually contemplated the idea of barging into the junie-classes and talk to them regarding this. But as fate would have it, this idea didn't materialize. We just sent across a mail reiterating what we do, what we plan to do and stuff like that. Inspite of this, we got only 4 nominations. Things had turned really hard for us :-(
But thankfully, the people this time were decent enough to be inducted. But still we couldn't fill our quota of 5. We chose 4 junies. And we are outsourcing one !!! There's this guy - Safirulla - who desperately wanted to work with TSG but had out in Treasury as his first preference. Then he talked to Treasury; and thanx to the guys (Piyush Bisani and Bhaumik Bhatia), they allowed him to work with TSG.
So here are the new TSG members:
Aashish Agarwal
Bharath S
Lakshmeesh K
Madhumita
Safirulla
But I really don't know why the junie batch has an extreme impression about us!! The contrasting feedback I got was that either we don't do any substantial work or that we involve too much work!! They'll soon know the TRUTH !!! :-)
But everything said and done, from the quality of people that we have inducted makes me believe that this time it'll be 4 in a row - Best Academic Fora Award, I mean ;-)
And a special mention to a Tanuj Saluja, who is now with PubCom; but desperately wanted to join TSG. After his selection, he wrote a very senti mail, which I'll possibly archive for my life.
